Dr Michaela Dunbar - Clinical Psychologist

For centuries, women's struggles have been dismissed. Not long ago, women were given hysterectomies for “hysteria”, what we now understand as anxiety or depression. Today, too many women are still told they're “just stressed” or “too anxious” or “too sensitive,” when in reality they're living with undiagnosed ADHD.

At The ADHD Clinic for Women, we're here to change that.

Every assessment is led by a UK Clinical Psychologist who specialises in how ADHD uniquely shows up in women. That means your diagnosis goes beyond a checklist, you'll receive a full neurosensitivity profile, clinical formulation, tailored recommendations, and a three-month support plan that gives you direction and practical, evidence based therapeutic tools.

Where medication is part of your journey, we refer directly to a trusted consultant psychiatrist, ensuring a smooth pathway to treatment. You get the best of both worlds, the depth and accuracy of a psychologist-led assessment, plus seamless medical support if you choose it.

With us, you're not just a patient to medicate, you're a woman being understood, validated, and supported with evidence-based care. This is more than an assessment. It's part of a bigger mission - to rewrite the story of women and ADHD.

When ADHD goes unseen, the costs add up.

Women are diagnosed years later on average than men, which means more time mislabelled as “stress” or “anxiety.” Around 1 in 7 women screen positive for ADHD traits, yet only a fraction receive a formal diagnosis. Untreated ADHD is linked with higher rates of self-harm and substance misuse (roughly 2–3×), as well as anxiety, depression, relationship strain and career stalls.

Diagnosis changes trajectories.

A recognised diagnosis opens the door to reasonable adjustments at work or university, targeted therapies and, if you choose, a safe medication pathway. At The ADHD Clinic for Women, you receive a 10-day report and three months of therapeutic support so clarity replaces self-blame and support replaces survival mode. Get your clarity. Get your direction. Get your life back.
